Homebuilder Miller Homes has announced its 2022 Community Fund winners across the West of Scotland, one of which is located in Renfrewshire.
Paisley Rugby Club has received a £500 funding boost to help supply the team with brand-new custom strips for the season.
The women’s club has been in operation for two years and has grown from seven novice players to 18 and counting. The team is currently competing in the Scottish Rugby Union’s Aspiring League, and the fresh kits will allow the team to feel unified on the field.
Stephanie Borman, Vice Club Captain of Paisley Rugby Club, is thankful for the donation. She said: “As a new and developing team, the funding from Miller Homes has been instrumental in allowing us to attain our very own strips. Previously we have worn the men’s strips from previous seasons, but now we have our own identity and are ready to make our mark in the up and coming season.
“We welcome all women to join us, try rugby and to forge new friendships here at Paisley! We train every Wednesday and Sunday and are always looking for new ladies to join us.”
Ten projects across the West of Scotland received donations to help better their community as part of the 2022 Community Fund initiative.
Louise Caldwell, Sales Director for Miller Homes Scotland West said: “Our Community Fund campaign has been well received by projects across Renfrewshire and it’s our pleasure to support Paisley Rugby Club. We’ve been given a fantastic opportunity to speak directly to local groups and understand what support they need from us to assist their cause. Community is at the heart of our Hawkhead development, and it’s been heart-warming to see the changes being made on our doorstep with this funding.”
