Renfrew town centre was alive with the sound of pipes and drums as Scotland’s top piping talent came together in Robertson Park for the Renfrew Pipe Band Competition.
The free-to-attend event on Saturday brought a full day of family entertainment to the park, with visitors enjoying a farmer’s market, food village, beer tent, inflatables, and a variety of children’s activities and workshops.
Local bands Johnstone, Kilbarchan and the Renfrewshire Schools pipe bands represented the area on the day, achieving great success across the different grades.
The event was organised by Renfrewshire Council and the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association.
Handing out the prizes as event Chieftain was Renfrewshire’s Depute Provost, Cathy McEwan, who said: “It was an honour to represent Renfrewshire at the Renfrew Pipe Band Competition and it was great to see such a fantastic turnout on the day.
“The standard of piping and drumming was top class and I want to say well done to everyone who took part and pass on a thank you to the officials from the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association who kept things running smoothly.
“I hope everyone who came along had a great time.”
