An MSP and a councillor have held a street surgery in Linwood.
Tom Arthur, SNP MSP for Renfrewshire South, has continued his sessions of street surgeries across his constituency, the most recent engagement session took place in Linwood, along with local Councillor, Robert Innes.
Last week we reported that Mr Arthur was joined with his Johnstone South & Elderslie colleagues, Councillor Jacqueline Cameron and Councillor Andy Steel.
With several more visits across the area planned over the coming months, letters will be sent out giving notice of dates and times in each area as they are scheduled, giving constituents the opportunity to contact Tom ahead of time and make arrangements for a personal visit.
Matters raised include benefits, health service enquiries, housing and consumer issues.
Tom Arthur said: “It’s so important to be as accessible as possible for my constituents, I have a high street constituency office and regular advice surgeries. Sessions like this are yet another opportunity for local people to air their views and get assistance from my office.
“The response to street events is always very encouraging, with so many people getting in touch to organise appointments for the day. The numbers involved are a great indication of how vital this type of localised engagement is, both for constituents seeking assistance and also for myself as constituency MSP and local Councillors to hear first-hand the pressing issues affecting people in the area.
“I really enjoy getting out and hearing about the issues that matter to people across Renfrewshire South. If you have an issue that you require assistance with, please contact my office on 01505 331 990 or by email at tom.arthur.msp@parliament.scot”
