Tom Arthur, SNP MSP for Renfrewshire South visited Hill Eyecare in Linwood recently to meet with practice owner Gemma Hill.
Tom’s visit was part of a series of engagements promoted by Optometry Scotland, the representative body for optometrists and dispensing opticians across the country.
As constituency MSP, Tom was delighted to go and meet with Gemma and the Hill Eyecare team at their practice on Bridge Street in the heart of Linwood.
Tom was keen to hear about their work in the community to raise awareness of the importance of eye health and the emotional and financial support available from the eyecare providers, which is of huge benefit to patients from Linwood, Renfrewshire South and far beyond.
Commenting after the visit, Tom said: “It was an absolute pleasure to meet Gemma and the staff at Hill Eyecare who have been serving the local community since 2020. I was fascinated to see their state-of-the-art imaging equipment which can detect a whole range of conditions at very early stages, allowing the experts to give advice to their patients on lifestyle changes to prevent or manage further progression.
“Independent healthcare providers like Hill Eyecare can offer a patient-centred service to local people, assisting with a whole host of issues that you may experience. If you are in need of advice, eyecare or eyewear, please get in touch with your local provider to see if they can help.”
