A sex attacker is behind bars after raping two young girls.
Kristofer Johnstone was today convicted following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.
The 33-year-old preyed on the first victim in Glasgow’s Knightswood and on the Isle of Bute.
The second youngster was attacked in the city’s Maryhill and Paisley.
The crimes spanned between 2003 and 2018.
Johnstone, of Kelloholm in Dumfries and Galloway, had denied the charges.
After the verdict, prosecutor Shanti Maguire revealed the pervert was a first offender.
Miss Maguire told Judge Alasdair MacFadyen that an impact statement had been written by one of the victims tormented by Johnstone.
Johnstone’s lawyer Patricia Baillie had asked for him to remain on bail pending sentencing.
But, Judge MacFadyen told him: “Given the nature of both charges, it is very likely a custodial sentence will be imposed.
“In all the circumstances, it is not appropriate that bail be continued.
“You are no longer not guilty and bail will be revoked.”
A woman who attended the trial with Johnstone broke down in tears as he was taken handcuffed to the cells.
Johnstone was put on the sex offenders list as sentencing was deferred for reports until next month.
