A home in Paisley has been extensively damaged and residents had to be evacuated following a blaze that police are describing as ‘deliberate’.
Police Scotland has issued a statement appealing for information following the wilful fire-raising crime in Morven Avenue, Paisley.
Emergency services attended a flat on fire in Morven Avenue with several nearby flats having to be evacuated at around 8pm on Friday, 19th April, 2024,
No one was injured in the incident, however, six residents were assessed by ambulance staff at the scene and nobody was required to go to the hospital.
Officers are checking for any relevant CCTV from in and around the area.
Detective Inspector Jan MacColl said: “The flat has been extensively damaged, and I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen something or someone [who] looked a little suspicious to get in touch with us.
“I’d also like to ask residents with doorbell recording equipment to check their footage. It’s possibly captured images which could assist in our investigation.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3518 of Friday, 19 April 2024.”
