Police Scotland are appealing for information after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash on the M8 in Renfrewshire.

The incident happened around 8.55pm on Sunday at the on-slip road at Junction 25, Braehead.

The crash involved a red and white Yamaha R6 motorcycle which struck a barrier.

The 42-year-old male rider was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment for a serious injuries.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into this crash are ongoing and we would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or who believes they saw the motorcycle on the road prior to the collision to get in touch.

“We believe the rider has travelled along Kings Inch Road and Old Govan Road prior to the incident at the on-slip for the M8.

“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident.
