Unison has confirmed strike dates for waste and refuse workers in East Renfrewshire and across Scotland over nine days in August.

Two other unions, Unite and GMB, are also expected to strike, however, those unions have yet to confirm those dates.

A 3.2% rise between 1st April this year and 31st March 2025 was offered by Cosla and rejected by a majority of members in Unison, Unite and GMB.

Strikes are set to begin on 14th August until 22nd August 2024 over 14 local authorities including East Renfrewshire.

These dates do not include Renfrewshire Council workers at this time. We are expected to hear strike dates from the Unite Union in the coming days.
