St Mirren got their seasons off to a start with a game in Paisley against Hibernian.

The 1st half saw Hibs pass up a couple of great chances to go in front and while St Mirren did have a couple of chances it was Hibs who were the better team in the 1st half.

The 2nd half was a different story as in the 48th minute Roland Idowu ran into the box, had a quick turn and shot to beat the Hibs keeper and put Saints 1 -0 in front.

From this point on Hibs showed very little and it was no surprise to see St Mirren go on to win the game. Two goals in the 78th and 80th both from Oisin Smyth saw the game finish St Mirren 3 -0 Hibs.

It’s back to European action for St Mirren on Thursday when St Mirren take on Norwegian visitors SK Brann from Bergen in what will be another sellout crown for the Paisley team.
