St Columba’s School has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with rugby club, Birkmyre. The sponsorship deal covers both the Mini and Senior sections of the club.

From now until late spring ‘27, the school’s logo will appear on the rear of the Mini’s playing kit. In addition, the school has sponsored the club’s post protectors with their logo also appearing on some of the 1st XV training & match day kit, as seen in the photo.

This sponsorship builds on the existing work the club and school have been doing to help develop rugby talent at the U16 age group recently, where a number of Birkmyre players turn out for the school team and train with them. The club would like to thank the Rector, Mrs Reilly, and Gordi Reid, Director of Sport & PE, for their support in making this happen.

Mr Reid commented “Many of our successful rugby players started their journey at Birkmyre Minis before they came to St Columba’s. We are delighted to be sponsoring Birkmyre Rugby Club which brings rich opportunities both to our school and local communities.

“It has been great to see how well the Birkmyre boys have integrated into the School set up and also how many former pupils are now representing the Club 1st XV, who went on to win their league last season. A main goal of our extra curricular programme is to encourage senior pupils to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle and remain in sport as they leave the School. Birkmyre provides that opportunity on our doorstep.”
