Police Scotland are appealing for information following an attempted murder in Paisley.

A 40-year old man was found unresponsive on George Street at around 11.55pm on Friday.

Emergency services attended and the man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Gordon Smith said: “Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with any information which may assist with the investigation to get in touch.

“If you have doorbell cameras, private CCTV or a dashcam, please review your footage and bring anything of significance to our attention.

“We would also like to speak to those who assisted officers in locating the injured man. If you have not spoken to officers yet, please contact us.
