The A737 road between Howwood and Kilbarchan has been closed due to a road traffic collision.

A signed diversion route has now been put in place.

Diversion details: Southbound traffic exit the A737 at Kilbarchan Junction, left at roundabout onto Kilbarchan Road, at next roundabout 2nd left onto the B787, at next roundabout 2nd left onto B787 Beith Road and continue on B787 through Howwood and rejoin the A737.

Northbound traffic same as above but in reverse.

The diversion is distance 2.8 miles and the closure has been in place since around 3.42am.

Stagecoach has said their X36 service will be diverted via Gateside, Lugton, Barrhead and the M77.

Police Scotland, said: “The A737 is closed between the B787 at Howwood and Kilbarchan following a road crash that we were called to around 3.10am on Monday, 23 September. A local diversion is in place.”
