Ice hockey fans will get the chance to do their bit to help the less well-off by donating food items and toys at Glasgow Clan games this weekend.

The Clan have organised a Foodbank Donation Appeal at their home game in Braehead Arena against Manchester Storm on Friday, 6th December 2024 and the following night at their home game against Dundee Stars the club’s annual Toy Donation Appeal takes place.

A collection point will be set up on both nights outside the Braehead Ice Centre doors, next to Costa Coffee.

Fans are being urged to donate non-perishable food items, toiletries, pet food, nappies and cleaning products to help families in need during the festive season. Donations will be passed on to the Renfrewshire Foodbank and the East Renfrewshire Larder.

The Clan are also encouraging fans to donate unwrapped toys suitable for children of all ages to their annual Toy Drive and the gifts will be passed on to Renfrewshire Toy Bank.

Fans can also donate money to these worthy causes by using the special QR codes displayed throughout the Arena at both games.

Glasgow Clan managing director, Gareth Chalmers said: “Our Purple Army of fans are renowned for their generosity and I’m sure this year’s food bank and toy collections will be well supported.

“Our supporters’ kindness and generosity can make a real difference to local families this Christmas.

“So, let’s come together as the Clan family to give something back to our community and make sure no one is left behind during the festive period.”
