The pupils of Thorn Primary School choir in Johnstone are looking forward to performing at Quarriers Festival of Choirs. They are first up on Tuesday, December 3rd at The Piazza Shopping Centre, in Paisley

If your Christmas spirit needs a boost during a day of intense shopping, take a magical moment to pause and soak in the festive cheer of the Quarriers Festival of Choirs.

The event at Piazza Shopping Centre, Paisley has already been held, however, there is still time to catch the choirs at Braehead Shopping Centre  tomorrow and at Princes Square next week.

The angelic voices of schoolchildren, church and community choirs will fill the air at Braehead Shopping Centre and Princes Square.

Primary schools from all over Renfrewshire have been taking part.

This heartwarming event not only brings festive cheer, but also raises money for Quarriers services across Scotland, a charity which supports more than 5000 people to help make a positive impact on their lives.

Where you can still see the choirs:

  • Braehead Shopping Centre – Wednesday, 7 December to Thursday, 8 December. 11am to 13.15pm
  • Princes Square – Monday, 9 December to Thursday, 19 December. Times vary, see timetable for more details

This year, 26 schools are taking part, as well as 12 community choirs, making 2024’s Festival of Choirs a true celebration of festive music. Whether you stop to sing along or simply enjoy the atmosphere, your support will make a difference. Every penny donated into the collection boxes goes towards the vital work that Quarriers health and social care charity does to support children and adults throughout Scotland.

New to the performance timetable this year is The Ukes. A talented ukelele band who will deliver a one-off performance at Braehead Shopping Centre on Thursday, December 8 at 12.15pm. It’s a treat not to be missed.

Louise Strachan, Quarriers Community Fundraiser, said: “We are thrilled to have The Festival of Choirs back on our Christmas event’s calendar. All the choirs are looking forward to being involved, and we are grateful for all their support and can’t wait for everyone to hear them perform a range of festive favourites.”
