Paisley based charity ACCORD Hospice has received a remarkable donation from a local business this week.
Cumbernauld-based business AmcoGiffen, and their supply chain partners, has raised an extraordinary £34,227.32.
This incredible total has been split equally between ACCORD Hospice and Maggie’s Cancer Care, supporting vital services for patients and families.
Recently, ACCORD welcomed Jim Double, Regional Managing Director Scotland at AmcoGiffen, along with two of his colleagues, to the hospice.
Jim sadly lost his wife last year, who was cared for at home by the ACCORD@Home team and the care left a lasting impact. During their visit, ACCORD showcased how the funds raised are directly making a difference to the lives of patients and their loved ones.
This generosity ensures the hospice can continue to deliver expert care, love, and compassion when it is needed most.

Building on the success of last year’s Coast-to-Coast ride, AmcoGiffen, along with their key supply chain partners – Vital, AndersElite, Nixon Group, VJT, Speedy Services, Nixon Group, Flannery, Readypower Group, Redrox, Go Green, Garic, and Scott Parnell – prepared for another ambitious cycling challenge.
On 24th September, the team embarked on a gruelling 170-mile ride along the Great Western Way from Bristol to Wembley Stadium, over three days. This effort was driven by a deeply personal motivation to support two charities close to their hearts.
David McFadden, Fundraising & Communications Manager at ACCORD, said: “We are humbled by the dedication and generosity of AmcoGiffen and partners. Their efforts ensure we can continue providing vital support to nearly 2,000 patients and families each year. This incredible fundraising total will allow us to reach even more people with the care, compassion, and dignity they deserve.
“Together, they have made this year’s ride a resounding success. Thank you to AmcoGiffen, their supply chain partners, and everyone supporting this inspiring initiative. Your kindness fuels hope and healing.”
ACCORD Hospice provides palliative and end of life care to people living with or affected by a life limiting illness in Renfrewshire and parts of East Renfrewshire, with nearly 2,000 patients and their families supported each year.
