Tom Arthur MSP this week took the opportunity for a whistlestop tour around three local schools to celebrate the artistic talents of four young pupils who had won prizes in his annual Christmas Card Competition.

The competition, which saw hundreds of entries from various local primary schools within Tom’s constituency of Renfrewshire South, showcased the amazing creativity and festive spirit of those participating.

The winner of this year’s competition was announced as Ava Falconer from P4 at Neilston Primary. Ava’s design, which exudes a festive and cosy atmosphere, will grace the front of Tom’s Christmas card this year.

Along with Ava, Tom met Robyn Foxon Walker, also from Neilston Primary, whose excellent design was highly commended by the judging panel. Robyn shared that she had been working on her design since P3, demonstrating her dedication and passion for art.

In addition to Ava and Robyn, two other students were highly commended for their fantastic contributions. Isla Sheldon from St Anthony’s Primary and Harper Rooney from Auchenlodment Primary impressed the judges with their excellent interpretations of a cosy Christmas.

Their designs and Robyn’s are featured on the back of Tom’s card.

Tom expressed delight in meeting and personally thanking all four pupils, presenting each with an art set to encourage their continued artistic journeys.

Tom Arthur said: “It was great to meet the winner and runners up in my annual Christmas Card Competition. The talent and creativity displayed by these young artists is truly inspiring.

“My thanks go to each and every young person who took the time to enter the competition and made it such a difficult task to choose the winner.
