Police are appealing for information following two suspicious fires at addresses in Paisley.

The first incident occurred at around 3.20pm on Friday, 27th December, 2024, when a fire was set within a common close at Ferguslie Walk.

A second fire was set within a common close around 7.20pm the following day in Millarston Drive, also Paisley.

Both fires were extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no reports of any injuries. Officers believe the incidents are linked.

Detective Constable Jack McElwee said: “We will continue to check any relevant CCTV footage for any additional information. In the meantime, I would appeal to anyone who was in these areas around the time of the incidents to consider if they noticed anything suspicious or unusual.

“I would also ask people with dash cams and doorbell recording equipment to view their footage as it could hold images which may be significant in our inquiries.

“If anyone has any information, please call police via 101, quoting incident number 2037 for Ferguslie Walk incident and incident number 2807 for Millarston Drive fire. Alternatively, you can get in touch with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and give your information anonymously.”
