Police Scotland are continuing to seek information in the Greater Renfrewshire area after three people were struck by cars, in separate incidents, over the festive period.
Two people are dead and a 15-year-old boy in a serious condition in hospital.
Sunday, 29th December 2024 – Beith Road, Johnstone
An 85-year-old man, John Allan, died in hospital after he was struck by a car on Beith Road, Johnstone near Midton Road and Fordbank Avenue.
The crash took place around 8.30am and involved a red Toyota Corolla on Sunday, 29th December.
He died two days later on Tuesday 31st December at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Police Scotland have not released a lot of information or suggested a crime has taken place, however, continue to request information and dashcam footage.

Tuesday, 31 December 2024, – Hit-and-run on Barrhead Road, Paisley
A 70-year-old woman, Elizabeth Kennedy, was killed on Barrhead Road, Paisley after she was stuck by a car at Hogmanay.
The driver of a white car failed to stop.
The pensioner from Paisley was walking on Barrhead Road, just east of the junction with Ladykirk Crescent when she was struck by a white car.
Officers investigating has urged anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have seen a white car in the area around that time, possibly with damage, to come forward.
They added that anyone with dash-cam footage that could assist their investigation to get in touch.

Wednesday 1st January 2025 – Hit-and-run Aurs Drive, Barrhead
A 15-year-old boy was struck by a car on New Year’s Day while riding an electric bike on Aurs Drive, Barrhead.
The driver of a silver Vauxhall Astra failed to stop.
The teenager, who has not been named, remains in a serious condition in Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Sergeant Ally Wright has confirmed officers are continuing extensive enquiries and appealed for anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and who may have seen what happened, the car or have information which could assist detectives, to get in touch.
Sergeant Wright also made an appeal to anyone with dash-cam footage or private CCTV to Police Scotland.
