Johnstone’s first-ever private nursery, which opened in 1998, has been sold.
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of The Gleniffer Nursery on Floor Street last week.
Established over 20 years ago, Gleniffer Nursery is registered for 45 children and occupies a detached former church hall building located in the heart of Johnstone.
The Gleniffer Nursery was sold for an undisclosed price.
The nursery was previously owned by husband-and-wife team, Norman and Morag MacAulay. Morag was involved in the setting up of Gleniffer Nursery in 1998, the first private nursery in Johnstone.
In 2002, Morag and Norman took ownership of the nursery and, over the past 27 years, Gleniffer has been part of the community in Johnstone providing childcare for local families and developing the nursery with a working partnership with Renfrewshire Council.
The pair recently decided to sell the business to allow them to pursue a well-earned retirement.
Following a confidential sales process with Callum Lancaster at Christie & Co, it has been sold to first-time buyers, AMS Estate Ltd.
Norman and Morag MacAulay, former owners of The Gleniffer Nursery, comment, “After 23 years, it was time to move on and enjoy retirement. We wish the new owners all the best and hope, with fresh eyes, they will continue to develop Gleniffer Nursery for its continued success.”
