Natalie Don-Innes MSP has called on Labour MSPs to back the 2025/26 Scottish Budget when it comes before Holyrood this afternoon.
Mrs Don-Innes told Renfrewshire News that the SNP Government’s budget prioritises key public services, including record NHS funding, support for Grangemouth workers, and measures to tackle child poverty.
She has warned that any Labour MSPs who fail to support the budget will be voting against:
- Record NHS and care funding of £21 billion
- The restoration of winter fuel payments for pensioners—reversing cuts imposed by the UK Labour Government
- A just transition for Grangemouth workers—with direct support to secure jobs and a sustainable future
- £768 million for affordable housing—helping families across Scotland
- A £34 million increase in culture sector investment—exceeding the demands of Labour MSPs themselves
Natalie Don-Innes MSP, SNP MSP for Renfrewshire North and West, said: “The UK Labour Government has broken promise after promise – so it’s no wonder Labour MSPs, including Anas Sarwar, look increasingly downbeat and desperate.
“From cutting pensioners’ winter fuel payments to hiking National Insurance and failing to cut energy bills, Labour has done nothing but squeeze household budgets in Renfrewshire and across Scotland.
“But today, Labour MSPs have a choice. They can back an SNP budget that delivers for Scotland—investing in our NHS, securing a future for Grangemouth workers, and tackling child poverty.
“If they refuse, it will prove yet again that Anas Sarwar and Scottish Labour are all talk and no action.”
