Think yer funny, aye? Then now’s your chance to show it . . .
An Open Mic Night takes place next Friday, 4th April 2025 as part of the first Paisley Comedy Festival.
And budding comedians keen to test their acts in front of a live audience are being encouraged to take part.
Paisley’s Jade Kelly, one of Scotland’s fastest-rising comedy stars, will be hosting the night, which takes place in Paisley Arts Centre from 8pm.

Christine Martin, Arts Team Coordinator at festival organisers OneRen, said: “We can’t wait for this. It’s going to be a night of big laughs, surprises and great new comedy talent.
“We’re delighted to have Jade hosting. As someone who’s climbing the comedy ladder, she knows exactly what it takes to get on the stage – and she’ll chip in with a few jokes along the way too.
“We’d love to hear from anyone who’d like to take the mic, whether they’re a complete newbie or a seasoned stand-up. The stage is theirs!”
If you’re interested in stepping into the spotlight, email oneren_arts@renfrewshire.gov.uk for more information and to secure your place in the line-up.
Paisley Comedy Festival, supported by Future Paisley, takes place from April 3 to 5, with shows in Paisley Town Hall, as well as the arts centre.
Headliners include BAFTA-winning comedian Iain Stirling – the voice of ITV’s Love Island – former Paisley and Renfrewshire South MP Mhairi Black, Glesga Da podcast star Stuart Mitchell and funnyman Gary Meikle.
Show tickets are on sale at www.oneren.org.
