A free event by Paisley and District u3a features guest speaker, Caroline Galffy from CHSS (Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland). Caroline, who is a Community Support Services Manager, will detail key facts and services which CHSS offers in this area.

Attendees will find out how to access help for these three health conditions at 2pm in the Salvation Army Hall in Mill Street (PA1 1ND). People can pick up free information, have a chat and some refreshments from 1.30pm.

Caroline Galffy said: “I’m going to share how our national charity assists people to live life to the full. Anyone living with a chest, heart and stroke condition and Long Covid can experience a wide range of emotions. For many this may include fear, isolation and loneliness, plus a real struggle to cope with the impact the health condition has on their everyday lives.

“Right now, one in five of Scotland’s population is living with a chest, heart or stroke condition and Long Covid. Our amazing Community Healthcare Support teams are here to make sure no one has to recover alone. I’m calling my talk ‘No Life Half Lived’ because that’s our goal.”

u3a chair, Kathy O’Donnell said: “Many of us will know someone who’s been impacted by one or more of these key conditions. I’m sure that Caroline will outline ways to stay well and offer steps to take if we ever find ourselves facing such changes in our health.”
