Scottish Conservative and Unionist candidate David McGonigle says he is “delighted” to be standing in the Paisley and Renfrewshire North seat at the General Election.
David – who has been a councillor on Renfrewshire Council for the last two years – has been selected by the party to fight the election on 4th July.
Having lived and worked here for most of his life, David says he is “acutely aware” of the challenges facing local people, families and businesses.
He is vowing to “focus on their real priorities” and be a strong voice at Westminster to fight for investment, good jobs and new opportunities in Paisley and Renfrewshire North.
Scottish Conservative and Unionist candidate for Paisley and Renfrewshire North David McGonigle said: “I’m delighted to have been selected to stand in this seat at the General Election.
“I am already enjoying speaking to voters and listening to them about their priorities.
“That is what I have done since being elected as a councillor two years ago. If I am fortunate enough that the people of Paisley and Renfrewshire North put their trust in me on July 4th, then I will be a strong voice for our communities.
“I will fight for investment, jobs and new opportunities across this area which has been neglected for far too long by the independence-obsessed SNP Government in Edinburgh.”
Mr McGonigle, added: “John Swinney has made it clear that he will continue to prioritise his party’s push to break up the United Kingdom, rather than the real challenges facing people in Paisley and Renfrewshire North.
“I want to see action to reduce NHS waiting times, to restore Scotland’s schools to their previous world-leading standards and for our councils to get a fair funding deal to protect local services.
“A vote for me on July 4th is a vote for a local champion as MP and one that will stand up on the issues that matter to you.”
