Staff from Paisley based construction firm, The JR Group, have raised more than £5,400 for The Beatson Cancer Charity after completing the challenge of scaling Ben Arthur in Arrochar, known as The Cobbler.
Ten members of the team took part in the hike, tackling the 884 metres-tall mountain which is located near Loch Long in Argyll and Bute.
The group greatly surpassed their initial goal of raising £1,000 for the Scottish cancer charity via their JustGiving page.
Gayle O’Hear, Construction Administration Manager of The JR Group, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the team for getting involved in this charity climb and supporting a vital local charity which supports so many Scots navigating a cancer diagnosis.
“The climb itself was super challenging, especially due to bad weather and strong winds, we were all proud to reach the mountain’s summit. We have lots of members of staff who enjoy walking and hiking in our spare time so we decided to come together to turn our hobby into an opportunity to raise funds for The Beatson Cancer Charity.
“I’d would like to thank all the team, colleagues, family, friends, suppliers, sub-contractors and partners for their incredibly generous donations and for helping us raise such a fantastic amount. We hope it helps the charity continue its work.”
