A new charity launched by The Clan ice hockey team aims to promote the benefits of exercise and healthy eating.
The Glasgow Clan Ice Futures Charity aims to give all age groups the chance to take part in skating, ice hockey and other ice-based activities that gives physical and mental health benefits.
The Clan’s managing director, Gareth Chalmers explained: “The charity’s focus will be on the introduction and participation of ice hockey and other ice activities to everyone, promoting a healthy lifestyle through exercise and nutrition.
“It will give all age groups opportunities to take to the ice, supporting our community outreach programme with local schools and youth groups, as well as our new Clan Academy setup as we look to develop the next generation of Clan players.
“We have had the ambition to make this a reality for a number of years and are now in a position to drive it forward along with the club’s wider aspirations.
“The club is fully behind this initiative and we’ll give it our full support as our official charity partner.”
