Nominations are now being accepted for the 2025 Provost Community Awards, and Renfrewshire’s Provost Lorraine Cameron is encouraging locals to submit their nominations now to beat the early January deadline.
Outstanding groups, volunteers and employees are among those being sought as the awards recognise the people who make Renfrewshire a better place to live, work and visit.
There are five categories available to nominate in and these are:
- Community Volunteer (sponsored by Glasgow Airport Ltd)
- Community Group (sponsored by City Gate Construction)
- Sport Award (sponsored by ACRE Industrial Services)
- Employee of the Year (sponsored by UNISON Renfrewshire)
- Arts and Culture Award (sponsored by Renfrewshire Council)
Provost Cameron said: “The deadline is fast approaching and I want to make sure everyone has plenty of time to get their nominations in. It’s a fantastic opportunity to recognise the unsung heroes in your area who go the extra mile without looking for a reward.
“Our nomination form is online this year, meaning it’s never been easier to submit. We want to know exactly why your nominee deserves to be recognised so please give us as much detail as you can on the form about why the person, or group, is so special.
“I know this is a busy time of year for many of us with the festive season getting underway, so why not take the time to submit your nomination now and get in well ahead of the early January deadline.
“I can’t wait to read your nominations.”
The deadline for entries to all categories is Friday 3 January 2025
The Provost will be joined by the award sponsors and other local elected members to choose the winners who will be invited, along with their nominator, to the awards ceremony in March 2025.
