Popeyes, the home of Famous Louisiana Chicken, opened the doors to its latest Scottish restaurant at Braehead Shopping Centre, with over 100 people queueing for the official opening.
Just in time to fuel busy Christmas shoppers, the restaurant officially opened at 11am on Friday 6th December at the food mall within Braehead shopping centre, with the launch seeing customers queue down the mall.
In true Popeyes fashion, the brand brought its signature New Orleans energy and hospitality, treating chicken fans to free Chicken Sandwiches and Popeyes merchandise as well as keeping the crowds entertained with lively, Mardi Gras inspired music.
Blane Jones from Glasgow was the first to appear hours before opening. He commented “I work in Braehead centre so will definitely come here every week, this is my first time trying Popeyes in the UK and excited to be the first to try it today, too.”
Tom Crowley, CEO at Popeyes UK, said: “It’s great to see so many people coming out to celebrate our latest opening in Braehead. The appetite for our New Orleans food is still growing strong in Scotland and we’re looking forward to opening more locations across the country soon.”
Now the fourth Popeyes in Scotland, the Braehead restaurant will serve the full Popeyes menu. The lineup includes fan favourites like the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich, Wings, Tenders and Signature Chicken Wraps. Each piece of Popeyes chicken is marinated for 12 hours in a signature blend of Louisiana herbs and spices, then hand-breaded and battered for that world-famous ‘shatter crunch,’ and complemented by delicious sides like its original Popeyes Biscuits and Cajun Gravy.
Popeyes will also be serving up its Festive menu featuring The Festive Superstack Sandwich, Sage & Onion Hash Browns and the Frostin’ Mint Shake made with Oreo available now until 6th January.
For those who’ve worked up an appetite while Christmas shopping, Popeyes has the perfect treat: the Festive Superstack Box Meal. This indulgent meal features the Festive Superstack Sandwich, paired with your choice of two Tenders, three Hot Wings, or a piece of Signature Chicken, served with regular fries and a refreshing drink.
The new restaurant is located in Braehead Shopping Centre in the former KFC unit and brings over 100 new jobs to the local area.
