A second councillor in Renfrewshire has defected from the Scottish Conservatives and joined the Reform UK party.

The move by John Gray was confirmed by Reform UK on their social media streams yesterday.

Gray, who represents Renfrew North and Braehead, was first elected in 2022.

Last month we reported that Alec Leishman who represents Erskine and Inchinnan, had moved to Reform UK from the Scottish Conservatives.

Renfrewshire Council has 43 elected councillors, the composition is now: SNP 20 councillors, Labour 13, Independents 4, Conservative 3, Reform UK 2 and the Liberal Democrats have 1.
