A pensioner has died, and another is fighting for his life after their car crashed into a wall.
The incident in Paisley claimed the life of a 76-year-old passenger and left the driver, a 78-year-old man, in critical condition.
The crash occurred on Tuesday at approximately 12.30pm on Corsebar Road, Paisley.
A silver Kia Ceed left the road and collided with a wall.
Emergency services were quick to respond, but despite their efforts, the 76-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle’s driver was taken to hospital in critical condition.
The road was closed from lunch time until around 6.25pm. It has since fully reopened.
Sergeant Ally Wright from Police Scotland, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman involved.
“Our investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing, and I would urge anyone with information, or who may have dash-cam footage from the area, to get in touch.
“Members of the public with any relevant information are asked to call 101, quoting reference 1328 of 15 April 2025.”
