Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South-West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking timber fencing and landscaping works on land adjacent to the A8 westbound carriageway and Main Road in Langbank.
Work will take place from Thursday 16th February until Friday 3rd March 2023 during weekday off-peak hours.
This scheme will replace the current timber boundary fencing at this location with a five rail fence.
The work will be carried out under the following traffic management arrangements:
- Progressive temporary traffic lights will be installed on Main Road, Langbank
- There will be a Lane One closure of the A8 westbound between Langbank Roundabout and the Langbank on -slip road
A total closure of the A8 Langbank westbound off-slip road is required and traffic will be instructed to continue on to Woodhall Roundabout. From here, traffic will join the A8 eastbound carriageway and at Langbank Roundabout, will take the second exit to join Main Road. Advance signage will be installed to inform road users of the closure.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Amey said: “Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
“Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.”
