Labour has made gains in Renfrewshire beating the Scottish National Party comfortably.

Scottish Labour’s Johanna Baxter has won the Paisley and Renfrewshire South constituency from the SNP.

Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar MSP was in Renfrewshire twice this weekend to back Labour’s local General Election candidates.

This seat covers part of Paisley, Johnstone, Linwood, Kilbarchan, Elderslie, Howwood and Lochwinnoch.

Renfrewshire Liberal Democrats have chosen Jack Clark as their candidate for Paisley and Renfrewshire South in the next general election.
