It’s Sunday, it’s 3pm and St Mirren know that a win will take them two points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.<\/p>\n

Having watched St Mirren for almost 60 year I cannot remember them dominate a game against Aberdeen quite so much as they did on Sunday.<\/p>\n

St Mirren started the game with an intensity that they maintained throughout the match.<\/p>\n

However, in the 42nd minute Hayes scored for Aberdeen from a freekick after a lapse in concentration in the St Mirren defence<\/p>\n

The Budies went into the half time break one goal down.<\/p>\n

The Saints equalised when Kiltie scored from the penalty spot in the 59th minute and in the 76th minute after a nice run and pass from Mandron to Greive the New Zealander put St Mirren 2 -1 in front.<\/p>\n

During the game ,St Mirren had had 2 goals chopped off for being offside and the Aberdeen keeper, Roos was forced into making a number of saves while St Mirren missed a number of great chances to finish the game off.<\/p>\n

St Mirren dropped 2 points in the 10th minute of added time at the end of the game when The Dons were awarded a penalty.<\/p>\n

Miovski the penalty taker took 2 touches as he hit the ball but this was missed by the VAR team resulting in Aberdeen taking a point from the game and leaving St Mirren wondering how on earth they hadn’t won the match.<\/p>\n

After the game, manager Stephen Robinson said: “I’m ever so proud of the players, I thought the performance was outstanding, I thought the quality of play was outstanding.<\/p>\n

“Sometimes things don’t go your way in terms of decisions and luck. VAR played a huge part in the results today but if you look back and see what we created, the quality of players as and the performances of each individual.<\/p>\n

“The boys who came off the bench showed how strong they are and made an Aberdeen side look average at times.”<\/p>\n

He added: “They’re a good side, spent a lot of money and I think that just shows how far we have come when they’re celebrating like that, getting a point against us so it’s so it’s nothing but credit to the players.”<\/p>\n
