Rangers have confirmed that Russell Martin has been sacked as head coach after just 17 games in charge.<\/p>\n
The 39-year-old\u2019s final match came in Sunday\u2019s 1-1 draw away to Falkirk. Following the game, Martin was given a police escort from the stadium after angry fans tried to stop the team bus leaving.<\/p>\n
Assistant Matt Gill and first-team coach Mike Williamson will also depart as part of the shake-up.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the Ibrox club said: \u201cRussell and his staff have worked exceptionally hard throughout their time at the club. We thank them for their efforts and wish them well for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
