St Mirren exited the Scottish Cup at the Fifth Round stage after loosing the cup tie 2-0 at home to Celtic. <\/p>\n
If St Mirren had started better and had Celtic been under pressure in the early part of the game it may be a diffrent story. However, it was Celtic who took the lead in the 15th minute through Furuhashi who scored with a shot from just inside the Saint’s penalty box.<\/p>\n
Saint’s did have moments in the 1st half and Gogic was unlucky to see his shot hit the crossbar and had an overhead kick saved by Celtic’s Joe Hart.The 1st half finished 1 -0 to Celtic.<\/p>\n
We were only 8 minutes into the 2nd half when Celtic went 2 – 0 up with a goal from another Japanese player, Maeda.<\/p>\n
St Mirren persisted and should have scored with a Kiltie header.<\/p>\n
Celtic deserved to win the game but St Mirren must be happy with the level of performance and if they continue playing like this they should be in with a chance of finishing in the top 6 or even in with a chance of European place.<\/p>\n
