Bishopton Ladies have advanced to the second round of the Scottish Cup after their first-round tie against Huntly Women was forfeited.<\/p>\n

The Renfrewshire side were due to face Huntly on Sunday, 20th September, but Bishopton confirmed ahead of the fixture that their opponents had withdrawn.<\/p>\n

Bishopton said they had been informed that Huntly had forfeited the tie due to player injuries. A club graphic also stated that injuries and player availability were behind the decision.<\/p>\n

The result means Bishopton will now go into the draw for the second round of the Scottish Cup without having to play their scheduled first-round fixture.<\/p>\n

Attention will now return to the Barclays Scottish Women’s League One, where Bishopton have made a perfect start to the season.<\/p>\n

They sit top of the table with 12 points from four matches, having scored 27 goals and conceded three.<\/p>\n

Bishopton return to league action on Sunday, 27th September, when they travel to face Dunfermline Athletic Women at Pitreavie Sports and Soccer Centre.<\/p>\n

St Mirren Women are also back in league action next Sunday. They travel to Christie Park to face Huntly FC Women.<\/p>\n

St Mirren currently sit fourth in the table with nine points from five matches.<\/p>\n
