Renfrew made it back-to-back league wins with a 2–1 victory over Shotts Bon Accord at New Western Park on Saturday 21st February.
Ben Harwood gave the hosts an early lead after just four minutes when he fired high into the net from close range.
Shotts responded well and levelled on 15 minutes. Paul McGeough found the net to make it 1–1 and ensure the sides went in all square at the break.
Renfrew regained the advantage six minutes into the second half. Aiden Malcolm saw his penalty strike the post, but Cameron Kerr reacted quickest to turn home the rebound and restore the lead at 2–1.
Shotts had a great chance to equalise on 48 minutes when Darren Bowie’s free-kick struck one post and bounced across goal before being gathered by the goalkeeper.
There were bookings in the first half, with Shotts cautioned after three minutes and Renfrew picking up a yellow card on 11 minutes.
Both sides made changes during the second half as they looked to influence the contest, but Renfrew held firm to secure all three points.
It was a hard-working performance from the home side, who had to ride their luck at times but did enough to see out the win.
