Three Scottish Lowland League West matches took place on Tuesday night, with Kilwinning Rangers taking maximum points while Largs Thistle, Clydebank and Caledonian Braves had to settle for draws.

Largs remain top of the table after coming from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Cumnock Juniors at Townhead Park.

Darren Brownlie put Cumnock ahead in the 23rd minute after the home side had already gone close through Jon Craig, who struck the post early in the match.

Largs looked for a response and William Sewell fired narrowly wide before Cameron Chalmers made an important clearance shortly before half-time.

The visitors made changes after the break and goalkeeper George O’Connor was called upon to prevent Cumnock extending their lead.

Sean McLeod was introduced from the bench on the hour and made the difference for Largs.

McLeod scored the equaliser in the 78th minute to make it 1-1.

Largs almost completed the turnaround a minute later when Liam McVey’s effort was pushed onto the crossbar by Cumnock goalkeeper Blair Currie.

Neither side could find a winner, with the point keeping Largs top of the division.

Kilwinning Rangers moved to within a point of the leaders after coming from behind to beat Albion Rovers 3-1 at Kilwinning Sports Club.

Albion captain Barry Duncan opened the scoring after 22 minutes, volleying home after Kilwinning failed to clear a long throw from Liam Dolan.

Kilwinning were level ten minutes later when Lewis Morrison took advantage of some slack defending to score, with Ryan Wilson credited with the assist.

Morrison scored his second in the 43rd minute after a long ball forward from goalkeeper Dylan Brown.

Wilson then added a third in the fourth minute of first-half injury time, with Andy Rodden credited with the assist, to give Kilwinning a 3-1 lead at the break.

There were no further goals in the second half.

Albion did have the ball in the net in the 90th minute when Rock Moses connected with a Barry Duncan free-kick, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

The result gave Kilwinning their first home win of the season and moved them onto 12 points from five matches.

Clydebank were denied victory by a late Caledonian Braves equaliser as the sides drew 2-2 at Alliance Park.

The Bankies went ahead after 11 minutes when Oisin McHugh’s follow-up effort took a deflection off Keir Samson and found the net.

Caledonian Braves levelled with the final kick of the first half when Watson headed home from a corner.

Clydebank regained the lead through Dean Cairns in the 65th minute.

The visitors were then reduced to ten men in the 81st minute when Blair Rossiter was shown a straight red card for serious foul play.

Braves made the extra man count in the closing stages, with Erik Sula scoring in the 90th minute to make it 2-2.

The midweek round continues on Wednesday night, with three more Lowland League West matches.

Johnstone Burgh travel to Newlandsfield Park to face Pollok, while Renfrew are away to Troon.

Auchinleck Talbot also host Beith Juniors, with all three matches kicking off at 7.45pm.
