Bishopton Rugby secured a 22-21 victory over Irvine with a converted try in the final moments of Saturday’s league match.
The two sides were closely matched, with Irvine leading for the majority of the game before Bishopton struck with the last play.
Sam MacKinnon scored the late try to give Kyle Robertson the opportunity to convert and secure a one-point victory for Bishopton.
Irvine described the match as hard fought and said both teams had competed well throughout.
The home side said they were disappointed to concede the converted try after leading for much of the contest, but credited an improved defensive performance for keeping them in the game.
Bishopton named Jack McArthur as their Player of the Match following what the club described as a “stand out performance once again this season making several strong and decisive tackles.”
The result gives Bishopton another narrow victory after a match which went down to the final play.
