Johnstone Burgh hit seven against Eglinton as Renfrew win at Cumnock and Glenvale draw

Johnstone Burgh, Renfrew and Glenvale were all in action over the weekend, with two victories and a draw for the Renfrewshire sides on Saturday 10th October 2026.

Johnstone Burgh progressed to the fourth round of the South Region Challenge Cup with a 7-1 victory over Eglinton at Keanie Park, while Renfrew secured a 2-1 away win against Cumnock Juniors in the Scottish Lowland League West. (full Burgh match report)

Paisley side Glenvale shared the points in a 3-3 draw with Kello Rovers in the West of Scotland Football League Third Division.

Thorn Athletic, who compete in the West of Scotland Football League First Division, had no fixture this weekend.

Johnstone Burgh recovered from conceding an early goal to defeat Eglinton, who play in the West of Scotland Football League Third Division.

Sean Davis gave the visitors the lead in the 12th minute, but Thomas Orr equalised eight minutes later before adding further goals in the 27th and 33rd minutes to complete a 13-minute hat-trick.

Aaron Mason made it 4-1 just before half-time and scored his second goal in the 57th minute.

Under-20 Development player Ben Brown scored on his first-team debut in the 73rd minute, before Zak McKay completed the scoring in the 89th minute with his first goal for the club.

Burgh will return to league action on Saturday 17th October when they travel to Raydale Park to face Gretna 2008, with kick-off at 3pm.

Renfrew also enjoyed success on the road with a 2-1 victory over Cumnock Juniors.

Kieran Healy opened the scoring for Renfrew with a free header at the back post, but Cumnock equalised before half-time to send the teams into the break level at 1-1.

Jordan Moore restored Renfrew’s advantage early in the second half, finding the goalkeeper’s left-hand corner to secure all three points for the visitors.
The result followed Renfrew’s 3-2 defeat to Johnstone Burgh in their previous Scottish Lowland League West fixture.

In the West of Scotland Football League Third Division, Glenvale picked up a point following a 3-3 draw away to Kello Rovers at Nithside Park in Kirkconnel.
S. Daly gave the Paisley side the lead in the first half, with Glenvale taking a 1-0 advantage into the break.

Danny Sinclair scored twice in the second half, but Kello Rovers also found the net three times as the match finished level.

Glenvale went into the weekend third in the Third Division with 14 points from seven matches. The draw took their total to 15 points from eight games.

Elsewhere in the division, Carluke Rovers defeated East Kilbride Thistle 3-0, Glasgow Perthshire beat Saltcoats Victoria 3-2 and Irvine Victoria recorded a 4-1 victory over Vale of Leven.
