St Mirren ended a run of five consecutive defeats with a 2-1 victory over Dundee in Paisley, as both teams battled through Storm Boelo.
It was St Mirren who settled better in the terrible conditions and, with 20 minutes gone, Saints’ Calvin Ramsey ran past the Dundee defence to connect with a pass from Eseosa Sule and fire the home side into the lead.
Both teams did well to serve up an exciting game despite the weather, but it was St Mirren who extended their lead in the 56th minute when Sule headed in a cross from Killian Phillips to put Saints two goals in front.
As the game progressed, it looked as though Saints would extend their lead, but a couple of missed chances gave Dundee hope.
In the 74th minute, Dundee’s Fink pulled one back for the visitors.
At this point, it looked as though Dundee might score again and, with just seconds remaining, Hamilton fired a shot against the crossbar.
The ball was cleared to secure a 2-1 victory for St Mirren.
Saints are back in action on Wednesday night when they face Hibernian in Paisley.
