Renfrew Ladies were beaten 3-0 by Dundee United Women, while Bishopton Ladies and St Mirren Women recorded league wins on Sunday, 6th September. In the Regional Cup, Gleniffer Thistle Women beat Dumbarton 7-0 and Houston United Women lost 11-0 to Drumchapel United Women.
Renfrew lost away to Dundee United in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2. Alma Codegoni opened the scoring in the second minute, before Lily Park doubled the home side’s lead in the tenth.
Renfrew went into half-time 2-0 behind. Steffi Simson added Dundee United’s third goal in the 68th minute.
Renfrew made five substitutions after the break. Caitlin McKee and Abbie Dunlop came on in the 57th minute, followed by Kirstin Harper and Naomi McNeill in the 67th. Louise Cameron was introduced in the 69th minute.
Sinead Goi MacLeod, Caitlin Martin, Lucy Sullivan and Louise Cameron were booked during the match.
In the Barclays Scottish Women’s League One, Bishopton Ladies beat Westdyke Ladies 12-0 at Park Mains High School to make it four league wins from four.
The result took Bishopton to 12 points and top of the table on goal difference. Their winning start includes the Renfrewshire derby at the beginning of the season.
Fern, McAllister and Logan each scored hat-tricks, while Stewart, Henry and Fury also found the net.
Club captain Lucy Marshall marked her 50th appearance and was chosen as player of the match by the referee.
Speaking after the game, Marshall said: “I thought we played really well. We came into the game not knowing how West Dyke would play. I think the teams in League 1 are all really competitive, so it’s hard to gauge how well teams are going to play against us.
“But I thought we started really well. We were ruthless right from the start, didn’t give them any time and were really clinical today. So I thought it was an all-round really good team performance.”
Asked about her own performance and the player of the match award, Marshall said: “I thought I did well. I just tried to give it my all, to be honest.
“I think they were quite physical. So I’m quite surprised to be honest because I think everyone in the team had a really good game, so I’m shocked about that.”
St Mirren Women won 4-1 away to Edinburgh South CFC in the same competition at Holyrood High School in Edinburgh.
Casey Canning opened the scoring in the 25th minute. Amelie Connell played the ball behind the defence, and Canning reached it before the goalkeeper, rounded her and rolled it into the empty net.
St Mirren led 1-0 at half-time.
Lucy Don doubled the lead in the 53rd minute, finishing low from Rebecca Kelly’s cross to the back post.
Helen McLeod made it 3-0 in the 68th minute after being played through by Canning. McLeod finished into the bottom-left corner.
Canning scored her second in the first minute of added time. Rosie Duncan played the ball down the line, and Canning finished high into the net.
Edinburgh South scored a consolation in the third minute of added time. The result left St Mirren fifth in the table with six points from four matches.
In Group 2 of the ScottishPower Regional Cup Group Central-West, Gleniffer Thistle Women beat Dumbarton 7-0 at Dumbarton Football Stadium.
A trialist scored a hat-trick on her debut, while Marci MacKay and Rebecca Donegan scored twice each. Gleniffer led 6-0 at half-time.
MacKay opened the scoring after Hannah Cameron delivered a corner to the back post. Sina Pickens then crossed for Trialist 29 to head over the goalkeeper and make it 2-0.
Cara Lovat played MacKay through for the third, before another Cameron corner was met at the back post by Donegan.
A kick from Leigh Skelton found its way through to Trialist 29, who finished for the fifth. The trialist then set up Donegan for her second goal before half-time.
Gleniffer made several changes after the break and added a seventh when Kirsty Ross played in Trialist 29, who fired into the top corner to complete her hat-trick.
Skelton recorded a second consecutive clean sheet and an assist. Cameron was named player of the match following her two assists.
Gleniffer are top of Group 2 with ten points from four matches.
Houston United Women were beaten 11-0 by Drumchapel United Women in the same group.
Teigan McPadden and Cara Anderson each scored hat-tricks for Drumchapel. Lilly Caldwell scored twice, while Zoe Clark, Chloe Devine and Ellie Barnes also found the net.
Houston remain without a point after two group matches.
