Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire sides were in Strathclyde Demolition West of Scotland League Cup action on Saturday, 12th September.
In Renfrewshire, Thorn Athletic hosted Glasgow Perthshire in the second round, while Glenvale faced Cambuslang Rangers at Ferguslie Park in a first-round tie.
Thorn booked their place in the third round with a 6-2 win over Glasgow Perthshire.
The sides were level at 2-2 at half-time before Thorn scored four without reply after the break.
Scott Morton and Chrissy Martin scored Thorn’s first-half goals, while Ryan Connelly struck twice and Caiden Adams and Darren Jones were also on target.
Glenvale’s cup run ended with a narrow 3-2 defeat against Cambuslang Rangers.
Sloan and Carnochan scored for Glenvale, but Cambuslang secured the win with a goal around a minute from the end.
There were also mixed results for the East Renfrewshire sides involved in the competition.
Neilston progressed from the second round with a 2-1 home win over Kilsyth Athletic.
Giffnock were knocked out after a 4-0 defeat away to Castlemilk.
Elsewhere in the competition, several ties were decided on penalties.
Kello Rovers and Finnart drew 1-1 in the first round before Finnart won the shoot-out 6-5, while Vale of Clyde beat Greenock Juniors 5-4 on penalties after another 1-1 draw.
Vale of Leven and Saltcoats Victoria drew 3-3, with Vale of Leven progressing 4-2 on penalties.
In the second round, Maybole Juniors and Royal Albert drew 1-1 before Royal Albert won 5-4 on penalties.
