Glasgow University produced a major South Region Challenge Cup upset on Saturday as they knocked Lowland League West side Renfrew out with a 5-3 victory.
Renfrew went into the first-round tie playing three levels above Glasgow University, but the hosts took control of the match and built up a 3-0 lead before half-time.
Renfrew had the first big chance of the game when Aedan Gilfedder played Jordan Moore through, but his effort was blocked by a defender.
Glasgow University then opened the scoring after a flowing move ended with a composed finish.
The hosts doubled their advantage from the penalty spot before adding a third to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
Renfrew admitted at half-time that they had not performed and that Glasgow University's three-goal advantage did not flatter the hosts.
The visitors responded in the second half and began their fightback when Olly Smith headed home from a corner to make it 3-1.
Renfrew then pulled another goal back when David McCallum won a header and Div applied the final touch to reduce the deficit to 3-2.
The comeback was completed when Smith's header came back off the crossbar and Jordan Moore followed up to make it 3-3.
Renfrew were reduced to 10 men during the latter stages but continued to push after drawing level.
Glasgow University regained the lead late on to make it 4-3 as Renfrew were unable to keep the ball out.
The hosts then added a fifth after a mistake from Kerr, who rolled the ball to a Glasgow University player before the move ended with the ball in the net.
That sealed a 5-3 victory for Glasgow University and sent Renfrew out of the South Region Challenge Cup at the first-round stage.
Glasgow University later described the result as a "massive upset" after defeating the Lowland League West side.
