Glenvale progressed to the next round of the Scottish Communities Cup with a 3-0 victory over Montrose Roselea at Ferguslie Sports Centre.
Three goals inside the opening 22 minutes put the Paisley side firmly in control of their first-round tie on Saturday, 22nd August.
Mark Munro gave Glenvale the perfect start after just five minutes, curling a shot into the top corner to make it 1-0.
Montrose Roselea had an opportunity to respond in the 17th minute when Owen Emslie delivered a cross for Elan Duff, but his header went just over.
Glenvale doubled their advantage a minute later.
Ewan Grant broke through the Montrose Roselea defence before sending a low shot into the corner to make it 2-0.
Grant struck again just four minutes later when he capitalised on an error to score Glenvale’s third in the 22nd minute.
Montrose Roselea attempted to respond before the break, with Riley Calder shooting straight at the goalkeeper. Evan Stewart also had an effort blocked before Lewis Hill curled a shot just over.
Glenvale went into half-time with a 3-0 advantage.
Montrose Roselea made four changes at the break as they looked for a way back into the cup tie.
The visitors created opportunities during the second half, but Glenvale remained a threat at the other end and Montrose Roselea goalkeeper Josh Gray was called upon to make several saves.
Glenvale were reduced to ten men later in the match when L. Comaskey was dismissed after receiving a second booking.
Montrose Roselea continued to search for a goal but could not find a way through, with Glenvale seeing out the remainder of the match to secure a 3-0 victory and a place in the next round of the Scottish Communities Cup.
