Renfrew were beaten 5-1 by Clydebank at New Western Park, with three late goals putting the game beyond the home side.
Renfrew goalkeeper Danny McLeay kept his side level during a first half in which Clydebank created a number of chances, including saving the first of two penalties awarded to the visitors.
Clydebank threatened in the opening stages, with James Grant sending an effort towards McLeay in the ninth minute.
Nicky Low then had a free-kick blocked before another effort went just over the bar.
The visitors continued to press, but Renfrew remained level and McLeay was called into action again as Clydebank looked for the opening goal.
Clydebank were awarded their first penalty in the 25th minute. Keir Samson passed to Low, who took his time before playing the ball forward, with Kieran Healy bringing down a Clydebank player.
Low stepped up to take the penalty and tried to place it to McLeay’s left, but the Renfrew goalkeeper got two hands to the ball to keep the score at 0-0.
Renfrew made their first change two minutes later, with Josh Winton replacing Dominic Lavelle.
The home side came under further pressure and Clydebank were awarded a second penalty following a scramble in the Renfrew box. Low found Samson as the visitors tried to create an opening before another Clydebank player was pulled down.
McLeay was booked following the incident, but this time Low converted from the spot in the 35th minute to give Clydebank a 1-0 lead.
Clydebank were forced into a change five minutes before half-time when Matt Niven replaced Chris McGowan.
Renfrew then suffered another setback in first-half stoppage time when Kieran Leslie found the bottom corner to double Clydebank’s advantage and send the visitors into the break 2-0 ahead.
Renfrew continued to face pressure after the restart. There was a scramble in the 51st minute when Neil McLaughlin was tackled and fell on the ball, with Clydebank eventually awarded a free-kick.
Grant was booked in the 57th minute before Renfrew made two changes four minutes later, with Ryan Paterson and Liam Percival replacing Logan Punton and Aedan Gilfedder.
Clydebank made it 3-0 in the 67th minute when McLaughlin scored his first goal of the match, with Niven credited with the assist.
Renfrew responded with two more changes in the 72nd minute as Cameron Kerr and Argyll McCoist replaced Olly Smith and Chris Mahon.
The home side then pulled a goal back five minutes later.
Jordan Moore produced a good piece of individual play, getting away from Clydebank’s Leslie before finishing into the bottom corner to make it 3-1. Kerr was credited with the assist.
Renfrew were unable to build on the goal, however, and Clydebank restored their three-goal advantage in the 88th minute.
A misplaced Renfrew pass fell to McLaughlin, who got the better of Ryan Rutherford before scoring his second of the match to make it 4-1.
McLaughlin completed his hat-trick in the 90th minute. The Clydebank forward beat AJ Doyle before Gilfedder approached him, with McLaughlin turning around the Renfrew player before getting his shot away to complete the scoring.
The final whistle confirmed a 5-1 defeat for Renfrew at New Western Park.
