Glasgow Clan will play their first competitive home game of the 2026/27 season when Belfast Giants visit Braehead Arena this afternoon.
The Challenge Cup meeting takes place today, Sunday 13th September, with face-off at 4pm.
Clan go into their first home game on the back of a 4-3 penalty-shot win away to Fife Flyers last night.
Glasgow had to go through 65 minutes of play and 10 rounds of penalty shots before taking the extra point at Fife Ice Arena.
Fife opened the scoring through Mika Partanen before Deven Sideroff brought Clan level during the second period.
Juho Rautanen put Glasgow ahead in the third period and David Madsen made it 3-1, but the Flyers fought back through Cameron Hough and Xander Lamppa to force overtime.
Neither side could find a winner in overtime, with the game going to penalty shots.
Sideroff eventually scored the decisive penalty shot as Clan started their Challenge Cup campaign with two points.
Glasgow now have a quick turnaround as they prepare to face Belfast at Braehead Arena less than 24 hours later.
The Giants are part of Clan’s Challenge Cup group alongside Fife Flyers and Dundee Stars, with Glasgow playing each of the three sides four times during the group stage.
It will be the first competitive home appearance of the campaign for Clan following their programme of pre-season games at Braehead Arena.
The club’s pre-season preparations included home fixtures against Dundee Stars, HK Liepaja and ECDC Memmingen Indians, with Clan completing their warm-up schedule with a 4-2 victory over Memmingen on Sunday 6th September.
Ahead of today’s game, Callum Carmichael, from Scoreboard Sportlight, said Belfast would provide a strong early test for Clan.
He said: “We’ll be looking to start off quite positive against a good side that are actually quite well-drilled and a lot of good quality. So, it’ll be a good game for the Glasgow Clan tonight in the arena.”
