Johnstone Burgh left it late to claim all three points as they beat Renfrew 3-2 in the Scottish Lowland League West at Keanie Park.
Burgh led 2-0 at half-time through goals from Mark Barrowman and Aaron Mason, before Renfrew fought back through Jordan Moore and an Alan Cook penalty.
Renfrew then had several chances to take the lead, but substitute Thomas Orr struck in the first minute of added time to secure the derby win for Johnstone Burgh.
Burgh manager Stevie Farrell made two changes from the starting XI that lost 1-0 to Largs Thistle at Barrfields Park on Wednesday night, 23rd September. Lewis King and Leon Murphy dropped out, with Kian Gilday and Del Esplin coming in.
Renfrew manager James Quigley named an unchanged starting XI from the side that beat Beith Juniors 3-0 in their previous league match. There were two changes on the bench, with Kenzie McCrystal and Joe Sexton replacing Dylan Innes and Argyll McCoist in the matchday squad.
Renfrew had the first chance in the sixth minute as Jordan Moore found space inside the right-hand side of the box, but he dragged his left-foot shot wide of the right-hand post from six yards.
Burgh threatened in the 12th minute when Max Kerr had a clear sight of goal, but his well-struck left-foot shot from 20 yards was saved by Renfrew goalkeeper Jack Donohoe.
Johnstone Burgh opened the scoring a minute later. Ian McShane’s cross from the right found Mark Barrowman, who sent a glancing header into the right side of the net from eight yards.
Renfrew had a good chance to equalise in the 20th minute when Aedan Gilfedder had only goalkeeper Brett Long to beat from eight yards, but his right-foot shot went wide of the right-hand post.

Burgh had another effort in the 24th minute when Kristopher Kerr turned and hit a left-foot shot from 20 yards, but Donohoe made the save.
Johnstone Burgh doubled their lead in the 34th minute. Kristopher Kerr’s pass released McShane into space on the right-hand side of the box. His low ball towards the back post found Aaron Mason, who tapped into the empty net from two yards.
Renfrew looked to respond two minutes later when Alan Cook’s free-kick from the right found Olly Smith, but his header from six yards went just over the crossbar.
Burgh came close to making it 3-0 in the 40th minute. Gilday’s cross from the left found Max Kerr, whose powerful header from six yards was saved by Donohoe.
Max Kerr had another opportunity three minutes later, but his right-foot shot from 14 yards went over the crossbar.
Renfrew started the second half looking for a way back into the match and had a chance in the 49th minute. Former Johnstone Burgh player Darren Christie’s cross from the right found Sean Fyfe unmarked six yards from goal, but his header went just over the crossbar.
Burgh threatened from a corner in the 52nd minute when McShane found Mark Durnan, whose header from eight yards was deflected wide.
Renfrew pulled a goal back on the hour mark. Olly Smith’s pass put Moore through on goal and the former Burgh player finished with a left-foot shot from eight yards which went in off the right-hand post.
Renfrew were awarded a penalty three minutes later following a foul by Burgh captain Del Esplin on Gilfedder.
Cook stepped up and fired his left-foot penalty into the bottom right-hand corner in the 64th minute to make it 2-2.
Renfrew then had an opportunity to complete the turnaround in the 66th minute when Fyfe’s first-time right-foot volley from 10 yards was saved by Long.
Gilfedder fired over from 20 yards two minutes later before Moore’s low right-foot shot from 10 yards was saved by Long in the 75th minute.
Renfrew continued to create chances as the match remained level. Christie saw a low effort from 14 yards saved in the 83rd minute before Kenzie McCrystal’s left-foot shot from a similar distance was stopped by Long two minutes later.
Despite Renfrew’s second-half pressure, it was Johnstone Burgh who found the winner in the first minute of added time.
Max Kerr’s inswinging corner from the right found Orr, who sent a right-foot volley into the net from two yards to make it 3-2.
The referee blew for full-time two minutes later to confirm a derby victory for Johnstone Burgh.
The result moved Johnstone Burgh up two places to seventh in the Scottish Lowland League West table, with 18 points from ten matches.
Renfrew are 15th with seven points from ten matches.
Both clubs now turn their attention to the first round of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup on Saturday, 3rd October.
Johnstone Burgh travel to Blairmount Park to face Newton Stewart, while Renfrew welcome Broxburn Athletic to New Western Park. Both ties kick off at 3pm.
Newton Stewart are 16th in the Lowland League West with four points from nine matches, while Broxburn Athletic are fourth in the Lowland League East with 22 points from nine matches.
