Paisley Pirates suffered a 6-3 Scottish National League defeat against Aberdeen Lynx at the Linx Ice Arena on Saturday 10th October 2026, with an improved third-period performance arriving too late to turn the game around.
Pirates travelled without regular squad members Calum Blair and Cale Tanaka and faced an Aberdeen side that started strongly from the opening face-off.
The hosts were quick off the mark, while Paisley struggled to settle into the contest.
Pirates found their feet in the third period, but the damage from their slow start proved too great to overcome. Despite the improvement in the final period, Paisley were unable to recover the ground lost earlier in the game.
A positive on a disappointing evening was the performance of Findlay Sawers, who was named Paisley’s Man of the Match.
One of the club’s under-19 players, Sawers earned recognition for his efforts on the night and the hard work he has put in throughout the season so far.
His award provided a welcome highlight for Pirates and recognition of a young player’s contribution during a challenging away fixture.
Pirates now sit fourth in the Scottish National League with eight points from six games, following four wins and two defeats.
They are level on points with third-placed Aberdeen and have two games in hand over their opponents. Paisley are two points behind Dundee and four behind league leaders Whitley.
Pirates next face Whitley away at Whitley Bay Ice Rink on Saturday 17th October, with face-off at 7.00pm.
