Buchanhaven Hearts and Largs Thistle drew 1–1 in the Scottish Communities Cup semi-final first leg on Sunday 12th April 2026.
Buchanhaven took the lead in the 16th minute through Adam Cross, capitalising on a mistake from goalkeeper George O’Connor to fire the hosts ahead.
Largs looked to respond, creating chances through Travis Stracey and Jamie Martin, but efforts were blocked by the Buchanhaven defence and goalkeeper Batty, who made a series of saves to keep his side in front.
The visitors were handed a route back into the match early in the second half when a penalty was awarded after O’Connor collided with a forward. However, O’Connor recovered to save Batty’s penalty attempt.
Largs continued to push, with Davidson, McGrath and Devine all testing Batty, while Buchanhaven also threatened, with Stuart Laird striking the post after racing through on goal.
The equaliser came in the 80th minute when William Sewell converted from the penalty spot to make it 1–1.
Both sides had further chances late on, but the game finished level, leaving the tie evenly balanced heading into the second leg.
