The home side made a strong start and took the lead in the 23rd minute. Aiden Malcolm finished well to put Renfrew ahead after a positive opening spell.
Just seven minutes later it was 2-0. Connor Cameron reacted quickest to a loose ball and drove it home from the edge of the box to double the advantage.
St Cadoc’s responded before the break. They were awarded a penalty in the 35th minute and Ferguson converted to make it 2-1.
Renfrew went in at half-time ahead, with the visitors still in the game.
The second half was more scrappy, with fewer clear chances for either side. Renfrew made a change at the break, with Reece Mullen coming on, and managed the game well as St Cadoc’s looked for an equaliser.
The points were secured in the 75th minute. Scott Morton converted from the penalty spot after Chris Mahon won the foul, restoring the two-goal lead.
From there, Renfrew saw the game out to claim all three points.
It was not the prettiest performance, but it was a valuable win as they continue their push to finish in the top nine and secure promotion, subject to licensing.
